Thanks David

Many years ago. I think he's right that the "primitive truth" was in the stars, but as Jordan says in Through New Eyes, the Bible also speaks through rocks and trees and, most importantly, Man, the ultimate image of God. It seems the witness of the stars, though not contradicted, was gradually superseded by the written revelation, a better revelation, which of course ends with the testimony of the living Word, the man with the stars in His right hand, the shepherds of the firstfruits church. Providentially, most of the "science" of ancient astrology has been lost.

Bullinger's book is interesting but, like most books, contains many isolated texts without really filling us in on God's "processes." It seems to me that the wise men had begun interpreting the stars in the light of the Scriptures, not for divining the future, but for understanding and discerning the times. And God rewarded their faith.

Hi Mike, thanks for the good blog. Just wondered if you have read 'The Witness of the Stars' by E.W. Bullinger? If so what are your thoughts on it.
